Vasu has been seen on national and international media and television for her environmental work including Google video, CBS, KCSM TV, KALW 91.7 FL public radio, Delhi Doordarshan, SF Bay Guardian, SF Chronicle, KPFA, VOA and the BBC. She has performed comedy thrice for audiences of 200 and 250 people at the California Ballroom at the annual South Asian gay event, Kulture Kulcha and Annie’s Club, San Francisco.
Vasu Primlani’s stand-up comedy is based on a unique look at life through the environment, queer politics in a social context, a literary look at comedy, and experiences of an immigrant bumping into the culture and the laws of the United States. Vasu grew up in Delhi, India, and received a Masters degree from UCLA in Geography, Urban Planning and Law. She is currently writing two books.
Special Skills Dialects: Indian, various, fluency in Hindi, English, comprehension of: Gujarati, Urdu, Punjabi, Sindhi; martial arts, Russian ballet, Can raise just one eyebrow, can wiggle ears barely perceptibly, can do a hand-stand, Capoeira, Taiko, rock climbing, and Indian classical singing (if no one is listening).
