From Reza Peyk's Website
Born in Tehran, Iran in March of 1982, Reza is the youngest of three boys.
His Father was a top ranked Colonel for the previous Iranian regime. His Mother a housewife & a Mother with a heart of gold!
As a child Reza showed a special love of performing & entertaining. Whether through dancing at family gatherings or telling dirty jokes with the adults!
Reza & his family moved to Canada when he was thirteen years old. His humour helped him through this transition period, where he went from an F.O.B. (fresh off the boat) to a D.I. (Desirable Iranian)! School was never Reza’s cup of chai, but it provided him a stage on which he could hone his craft. He tried his hand at stand-up comedy in the summer of 2003 by organizing his own show at a local theatre. Not having any written material, Reza improvised the entire set, which lasted over an hour and was a great success. Wanting to go out on top he went into early retirement! Reza did not return to the stage until the March of 2007. His return was well received and the performance was one of a kind.
Reza is a dynamic performer with great stage presence, energy & quick wit. His comedy is full of characters, music & dancing. His material covers hilarious observations from his unique point of view on many different topics. Reza’s main goal is to bring his audience into his world & away from their problems.
Being a big fan of freedom of speech, this controversial comedian delves into taboo subjects that are deep problems in our world today. He calls these forays “ Tears into Laughter.”
Reza Peyk Biography
How to describe Canadian Iranian stand-up comedian Reza Peyk? Reza Peyk is badass. He's young, hip, edgy, vulgar and incredibly funny. Born in Tehran in 1982 to a former colonel and housewife, his family emigrated to Canada. He's relatively new to the comedy circuit, but he's working hard to get himself established and is constantly pushing boundaries and breaking taboos with his comedy taking his audience out of their world and into his own. He's recently been on tour with Maz Jobrani and will be out promoting his new DVD a lot in the summer.
Reza Peyk Comedy
People ALWAYS need to LAUGH!!! That’s why Reza Peyk reveals the 2 most important rules to being funny: your DELIVERY and your CONNECTION with the audience! Which is why he loves Chris Rock…and is very proud of Maz Jobrani (who he will be performing with in the coming months)! Like a true Iranian, Reza loves to eat….so, what does it take to feed a comedian??? Chelo Kabab, Piaz, Gojeh o Tadigh! Reza likes to draw from true stories to create comedy, so as a food lover he likes to refer to different races as certain foods. Iranians are KABAB and white people are MACARONI & CHEESE…Reza wants to know which you prefer!!!??? As for Reza’s words of inspiration: “Never give up on your dreams because once upon a time there was a retarded kid from Texas that dreamed of becoming the President of the United States of America.” The End. hahaha!! Come on, that was funny!
