Biography From Wikipedia
Danny Bhoy (born 1974) is an Indian-Scottish comedian who has found success in the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand and Canada. He is half-Indian and half-Scottish.[1]

Biography

Early life
Danny grew up in Moffat, Scotland, as one of four children, and attended Moffat Academy and all-boys public school Merchiston Castle School in Edinburgh.
His humour is observational, often involving his own personal experiences as an international comedian. While he does mention his Indian heritage during
his material, it is often a quick reference and never the focus of the show.[2]
Career
He began stand up in 1998 after going to see his first comedy show at the Edinburgh Festival. A year later, he won The Daily Telegraph Open Mic Award,[3] Britain's biggest competition for comedy newcomers. In 2001, Danny took his first full length solo show to the Edinburgh Festival, where, within a week, he had sold out his entire three-week run, and was forced to add extra shows to cope with demand for tickets.[4]
The following year Danny returned to Edinburgh with a new show. Ultimately a room three times the size was not enough, with more extra shows added at the end of the festival. By the spring of 2003, Danny's comedy started to take a different direction. That year he also entered the Australian comedy market, with his first solo show at the invitation-only Melbourne Comedy Festival. The success of his live work led to various TV appearances on high-profile national Australian TV shows such as Rove Live, The Glasshouse, and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Gala. In November of that year, Danny was invited to perform on the Royal Variety Show.[4]
In 2005, Danny was invited to take part in the Montreal Just For Laughs Comedy Festival, where the Montreal Gazette described him as 'the stand out hit of the festival.' In November, Danny was invited to take part in the inaugural Las Vegas Comedy Festival alongside some of the biggest names in comedy including Jerry Seinfeld and Chris Rock.
Since returning from his 2007 tour of Australia, Danny Bhoy is back on the road again. In 2009 Danny Bhoy, returned to Australia, for another tour.

Danny Bhoy Biography
"Subtle, intelligent, perceptive, observant and very, very funny."
The Scotsman
Since his first solo show in a modest 60-seater at the Edinburgh Fringe back in 2001, Danny Bhoy's star has continued to rise. His 8th solo show at the Fringe last year to packed-out houses in one of the biggest venues in town, tells only a small part of the incredible journey this young Scottish comic has taken.
In just a short few years, Danny has built up a massive following everywhere he has been. He has continually smashed his own box office records in Australia and New Zealand as well as in his home country of Scotland. As probably the most travelled comedian working in the World today, Danny's unique brand of story-telling and razor sharp wit has been described as "effortlessly funny" by one critic, and "the stand up equivalent of Bill Bryson" by another.
On the other side of the Atlantic, his recent appearances at the Montreal Just For Laughs Comedy Festival have created a stir among audiences and critics alike with the Montreal Gazette describing him as "the stand out hit of the festival" in the same year he was also nominated for a Gemini Award for Best Individual Comedy Performance. In 2008 he had the honour of appearing on the prestigious All Star Gala, usually reserved for veteran comics of the festival. After unprecedented sell-out theatre runs in Montreal and Toronto this year, Danny is currently preparing for a solo tour of Canada early next year.
After the huge success of his first DVD 'Live at The Opera House', Danny has just released his 2nd DVD 'Live at the Athenaeum' which features more hilarious yarns from this most gifted of performers. In July 2009, he also recorded a highly prestigious 1-hour Comedy Central Special. The special will be aired in the US early next year. Danny moved to LA in August 2009 in preparation for an extensive tour of the US and Canada to coincide with the release of the Special (which will also be released on DVD.) Danny Bhoy's worldwide fanbase continues to grow at a staggering pace. 2010 promises to be another busy year for the brilliant young Scot.
